Crazy Upper Body Strength Video – not for us mere mortals, or is it?

Since I like to post something different on Friday’s, and since Friday’s post was a little more serious than usual – here is a fun video to watch for the weekend. This is some crazy upper body strength. Enjoy!

  1. John-

    Thanks for the inspiration.

After 25 years of working out, over the past 3 years I’ve moved from traditional bodybuilding/weight lifting routines to full body workouts with kettlebells, club bells, bodyweight, ropes, sled drags, Ashtanga yoga and TRX exercises.

I also started doing some ring work (holds, muscle ups), yoga holds and am teaching myself to do an unsupported handstand at 43 years old!

I wonder how or if I can progress to some of these things I see on your site. I’d love to do a handstand pushup, a planche on the rings etc. Not sure where to learn to do this so for now I’ve been practicing a planche on the floor and a headstand with my feet on the wall and gradually trying to reduce the amount of weight my feet support.

We’ll see what the future holds. I am somewhat amazed at my progress in the past 3 years. I do things today I never even considered possible and actually look, feel and move more athletically than ever before in my life.

    1. Hey Steve,

Thanks for your comment – glad to hear you’ve enjoyed the site. If I were you, I’d take a look at the Gold Medal Bodies programs by Ryan Hurst. He’s got some great handstand stuff, and he may have a tutorial on the planche, too. Keep up the good work!
