The contest is now over, and all entries have been considered by myself and another mystery judge (aka my better half).

*drum roll please*

Congratulations to our fourth entrant, Erin, who has won the contest!

Erin, Please check your email to redeem your prize.

Even with only 30+ entries, it was very hard to decide on just one winner. I wish I could have given out free copies to everyone, and there were several of you who really touched my heart with your thoughts. It was very hard choosing just one!

Thank you all for your comments. We've got a great community here at Physical Living, and it's all because of you.

Keep an eye out for more contests in the future.

My dream is to lose 5-6 kgs more and gain some muscle definition. The Body Fat Solution sounds like the book I need to get me on track. I know there is no magic bullet and hard work doesn’t work alone. If I can get an understanding of how to put it together I’ll be on my way. To win a copy would be amazing. I don’t believe in going on diets or New Years resolutions, just plain ‘health lifestyles’.
I’m having a really good day today, I feel great, the weather is perfect, but this makes me want to sit down and eat. On these perfect days I think about doing lunch with friends, this is lovely but I always end up eating to much and having a few drinks (alcoholic). The drinks then make me want to snack after lunch, and it goes on . . . . . .
When I’m having a bad day and feeling a bit depressed my thoughts always go to eating. On days like this I want solid wholesome food. This is usually bulking in carbs.
When I’m feeling really motivated and have a great bodyweight workout, I feel I need extra food, as the energy burns so do my hunger pains. I’m not sure what is the correct way to eat around my training sessions?
Even when I’m not motivated and can’t get myself to workout I want extra food.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a bad eater. In fact I’m a very clean eater. (I do love chocolate though, this is a big weakness). I would have some form of takeaway maybe 4-6 times a year if that. This is usually on the best of the worst side aswell. I love healthy food, I take my lunch to work everyday and snacks, and we cook dinner every night. We only dine out about 4 times a year for B’days.
It’s just that I have a problem with feeling hungry. When I was younger I use to get low sugar attacks quite regularly and just need to eat on the spot. This has stopped since I’ve been eating more protein. The problem is psychological I’m sure. So I don’t get this feeling, I will eat lots of fresh fruit, dried fruit and nuts during the day. I struggle to lose any weight even when I’m working out hard. Sometimes I have lost 1 ½ kgs just to put it back on after one bad attack of eating more than usual. Christmas was a real struggle, I can’t say no to snacks when they come out. Maybe it’s because we don’t have those things at home. Another psychological thought I’m sure.

Please help, Jamie Louise
Ps. Thanks John for your great site, I am a CSTer and love the way you work this into your workouts.

Hi John. I just stumbled upon your youtube channel today and started watching all your vids. I then clicked on your website and saw that today was the last day of this contest and that I could possibly win a great book. So here's my submission.

I have had high bodyfat since being a teen becuase of my diet. I was an athlete in school and was always what you would call regular looking I guess. In the 11th grade my basketball team had a free bodyfat test that was administered using electronic nodes that were attached to several places on my body. I was told I had 30% bodyfat at that time. Here I was an athlete and 120 pounds (5'6") and thin. I entered the military after HS and after 4 years of service I was 155 pounds and having to test to not get into trouble for being at the edge of my weight limit. All the while I was active but had a horrible diet. Well after the military this trend stayed with me through 6 years of being a deputy sheriff. At the end of those 6 years I was around 175 pounds. Fast forward and I am now 36 years old and 200 pounds!! I am probably close to 40% bodyfat by now maybe more and I hate myself. My husband and I are making an effort to clean up our diet and we have started working out again after some crazy things happening and us having to move twice. I want to be around for my daughter (now 3) and be able to play with her. I am afraid that if I do not change now that I may end up having a heart attack at an early age. I am on the right track now and I am ready to change my life forever. I feel that having this book will help me reach my goals. I will do my best either way but having some idea of how to lower my bodyfat will greatly help me. Thanks for your time.

My weight gain began in 2002 when I was 13 years old. Each year after entering high school I continued to put on additional pounds. Throughout the high school years I tried various different diets but I never stuck with them and ended up gaining any weight I lost back. I continued to gain weight each year until 2007. This was the year I was at my heaviest. Seeing pictures was awful and I was not happy and didn’t even like looking in the mirror. That year I started working out with a workout partner and lost 20 lbs. In 2008 I joined a contest at a local part and lost another 14 lbs. After the contest I ended up gaining all the weight back because I didn’t learn how to eat right. I knew if I continued to have bad eating habits I’d be back up to 200lbs. In 2009 I entered another contest and lost 20 more pounds. At this point I was down a total of 40 lbs since 2007. I vowed that this time it would be different. I was going to stick with my goals and change my lifestyle completely. As of today I’m down a total of 57lbs! I went from a size 16 to a size 8. I have a body fat percentage of around 28%. To reach my goals I need to lose around 18 more pounds or whatever my body weight will be at for 20% body fat. Not only do I look differently physically but I have a new outlook. Food is fuel not something that is there to make me happy. This point is actually something I learned from my sister. I’ve receive some help from her throughout my weight loss journey and if it wasn’t for her I would not be where I am today. She has really motivated me and she is the one who told me about Tom Venuto’s book. I think his book would be the additional support I need to lose the remaining weight and keep the weight lost off for life!

Love Tom's info! His writing style is very pedagogical and his information is valuable & a great stimulus for real results. I eat it up & take copius notes, applying knowledge to my life. Besides, when is there a time not to be in the best shape of your life?
