RESULTS SPEAK LOUDER
Success Stories
Since 2008, thousands of people from all over the world have used our methods to get stronger, move better, lose weight, and transform their lives.
Here are some of their stories.
“A month after my 61st birthday, I was overweight by about 7kg, with type 2 diabetes, and some spinal nerve damage. I needed to find some exercises I could do, that wouldn’t aggravate my back condition. When I first started, I could almost do a single chin-up, and could manage about 3 push-ups. Now, almost 6 months later, and on pretty much a daily basis, I am doing 5 alternating sets of the following: chin-ups (8, 7, 6, 5, 4), push-ups (25, 20, 15, 10, 5), plank (5 x 1 min), and prison dips (5 x 20 reps). I haven’t felt this physically good since the mid 90’s. Thank you for this, John, just what I needed.”
“I’ve known John Sifferman a long time. John is not only a respected fitness industry colleague, he’s also been a business associate who worked with our Burn the Fat company for years. He was a fantastic guy to collaborate with, and I had the opportunity first-hand to see how knowledgeable he is about exercise programming…Following the system in John’s Pull-Up Solution program, I reached a lifetime personal record of 26 reps, then continued on to 27, 28, 29, and ultimately 30 consecutive reps. I did it in less than 2 months, after being stuck for 20 years.”
“Hi, John. In 2019 I set a goal to do 10,000 pull-ups and I was able to accomplish it. I frequently came to your site for advice and form checks…Forearms, lats and confidence. Gripping a bar for 10,000 pull-ups gets the forearms worked. Lats and shoulders got wider, of course. Maybe more than I thought they would. And accomplishing a goal that seemed challenging and requires months of work is a big mental boost. It’s something I now draw on when I get other challenges… Just wanted to say thank you and to encourage you to continue this valuable work here. Cheers, Garrett from TX”
“Hi John! My name is Kristian and I am from Sweden. My girlfriend competes in something called Athletic Fitness. As a athlete you are doing a max set of pull ups, bar dips, and 1 minute row machine for time. Last summer she could not do a single pull up. I found your website and used the free material you have there and a couple of week ago she did 15 strict pull ups in just 4 months of training! Please see the video that I made. Thank you for everything you have done for me and my girlfriend! She wouldn’t be the athlete she is today without your passion and work!!! Once again thank you!!!” – Kristian Thalin, Personal Trainer | Sweden
“I’ve known of John for many years. I had seen him on Tom Venuto’s BFFM inner circle often, had read several of his articles and had been reading his blog posts on physical living for several years. I got to meet John in person when I went to visit NH in June of 2015 and got together with him and some other online friends for a hike. John showed up barefoot which was impressive in itself because who hikes a mountain barefoot, well John does lol. What was more impressive was that I had asked John about foot cramps on the hike. I had been having bad ones while marathon training and he sent me a video a few days later with exercises I could do to help with foot and ankle issues. I started to wonder if maybe he could help get me through my marathon so I asked him if he would be willing to coach me online. So the end of July he became my online coach.
I’ve had ankle issues for years and John soon had me pain free by doing mobility exercises on almost a daily basis for the several months leading up to my walking marathon. They were simple and easy, just a few minutes a day, and it made all the difference. Last October I walked my marathon, a goal I had tried to get to for the past 6 years.
A little history about me is I use to weigh 378 lbs. I’ve lost and kept off over 185 lbs for the past 9 years. But as we all know it’s a struggle sometimes. So currently John is helping me find “peace with food” on a daily basis. It’s a process and I recently told him I didn’t want to be his albatross around his neck but he assured me he’s in this for the long haul and wants to see me reach my ultimate goal and I’m sure he will :)
What I can say about John is he helps ME find MY way through my issues, be it mental, dietary or physical. He doesn’t impose upon me some cookie cutter plan but listens and then suggests and then allows me to do what works in MY daily life. I know his expertise is in fitness but he knows a lot about the mental and dietary side of things as well. I also appreciate that when he feels someone else can help me with something better he points me in their direction with great articles, suggestions of workouts and books.
His blog also has a wealth of knowledge he’s accumulated over the years with his great posts. What I know is, John is definitely a glass half full kind of guy and he’s dedicated to helping anyone that needs help in whatever way he can. He really is dedicated to ME reaching MY goals no matter how many times he has to remind me of something because I don’t always listen lol. His calm toughness is welcomed when I am faltering with a plan I made myself. He will throw my own words back at me, encourage me to write them down, say them in the mirror to myself, all the things to push my subconscious to create lasting daily habits.
I believe anyone that chooses John as their coach will reap great physical and mental benefits quickly and find themselves a life long cheerleader. He isn’t your typical coach that’s for sure. I will be forever grateful to him as I’m sure anyone that hires him will be as well :)”
Ready for a change? How about a challenge?
“John, Today was everything I needed it to be. I cannot express my appreciation enough for you taking the time to work with me. Got out of the car and my hamstrings are singing a song and my core is smoked. Feeling a lot of stabilizers today also, intercostals and such. Really enlightening. Thanks again.” – Fred Gokey, Firefighter
“It is not often that I find myself at a loss for words. But here, John Sifferman of Physical Living for whom I have immense respect for, has managed it… You see, outside of John being a good friend of mine, he is a fitness professional that truly stands out. He has established with Physical Living, a standard of integrity and honesty, that the ever growing community around him has come to truly value…Because John pull’s no punches, whether you’re a friend or not… And John, Thank you for your sincerity, your genuineness and your passion. In all that you do. Hit me at the heart bro.” – Shane Heins, Director of Fitness Education at Onnit
“John Sifferman has been such an important component of my own fitness/health training… John, I always appreciate your honesty and critical, yet fair mind. And you walk the walk with your training. That’s to be commendable. You along with many CST coaches are an asset to the greater CST world. Thank You!” – Kevin L. Dougherty

“John is revered as an amazing body-weight and mobility coach around the world.” – Jason Rhymer, Training Department Editor of Faith & Fitness Magazine | Charlotte, NC
“Hey John, I’ve spent a few months doing some of the specific leg exercises seen in the “Bodyweight Training For Leg Strength” video. My legs have felt absolutely amazing since including a few of these movements in, besides my other outdoor prescribed training. The includence of these said exercises, has made this my best pre-season strength training routine to date. Thanks!” – Richard Costello
“Thanks so much for sharing your expertise! I feel I have learned so much already and am looking forward to applying this knowledge to my workouts. I used to think I was in pretty good shape, but I know I have a long way to go. I’m 44, weigh 212 pounds (was 222 January 1st 2019), and can officially do 1 proper pullup! My goals are to get faster, stronger and more flexible so I can enjoy life with my family (married with 3 kids – 12, 11, and 9). I enjoy playing hockey and also coach my kids hockey teams. I have run sub 6 minute 1500m 3 times in 2019 (I’m very happy with that as I am not a “natural” at running at all). I’m really excited about applying your knowledge and tips to my workouts and tracking my improvements – which I’ve started seeing already! Thanks again for sharing. You’ve inspired me!” – Steve Reimer
Workshop Reviews
“Just FYI: since I’ve been doing those three stretches for my legs that you taught me, I haven’t had any knee pain when going on runs–so thanks!” – Joe
“I’ve followed your site for quite and was drawn to the site by your great articles on barefoot running and movnat (i now run barefoot often and am using elements of the natural method in my training). The point of this message is to thank you for the above instruction. I’ve never used pullups in my training before but have set myself a goal of completing a muscle up – i want to be able to pull myself up onto over surfaces. The 2nd stage was to complete a proper pullup (described in your vid) and I’ve just done that – my first ever unassisted, from hanging pullup. Wicked! Your proper explanation and understanding of body mechanics, posture etc is crucial for health and fitness and I thank you for putting such good onto the web. Keep up the good work.” – Marcus
“I’m a regular reader of Physical Living and just want to start by saying THANKS for providing all the great content. I especially enjoy the balanced view regarding fitness/wellness information.” – Roberto

“There’s something about pullups, pushups, 1 leg squats and other bodyweight exercises that just makes me feel STRONG all the time. It’s great to know I can jump up and grab a ledge, bar or tree and pull myself up anytime.” – Steve | Florida
“Just wanted to let you know your youtube vids on pull-ups and push-ups were excellent. U explained them very well. I already see improvements.” – Peter Lee
“John, This is truly the best explanation on this exercise I have ever seen. I was given the same unit as a gift three years ago and was following the instruction booklet and did some damage to certain parts of my body . I wish I had seen your video first. Well I going to start slowly all over again. Thank you for this thorough lesson.” – Chic
“John! you are so the MAN! I learn more from you by accident than elsewhere by design.” – Larry Brown
“I work as an aerialist and found this tutorial through an aerial site. Even with that background I think I was doing just about everything wrong that I could have been. I tried doing it the way you taught and I noticed an immediate difference. Thank you so much for a brilliant tutorial video.” – Ben
